May 8, 2018 Uncategorized

Do you love the outdoors and want to help make The Bentway one of the best places to visit in the city! Then join our team as an Urban Ranger. Part-time and full-time positions available.

The Urban Ranger is part of a team that is responsible for ensuring that the Bentway site looks great, and that our visitors’ experience is a positive one. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Urban Ranger positions are a blend of groundskeeper, handy person, basic gardener and Bentway ambassador. They will keep the site clean and well maintained, including all outdoor, indoor and garden spaces, and will assist with the set up and tear down of Bentway programming and third party events.

On days without formal programming, the Urban Ranger will be the primary point of contact for the public at the Bentway. They will attend to any onsite issues and therefore must be comfortable communicating with the public.

The work schedule will vary and will include weekends, evenings and Public Holidays. The standard “open” hours of the Bentway are 10am to 10pm, and most shifts will fall within this time period. Later or earlier hours will sometimes apply during programming and events. An Urban Ranger may be required to come in for shift coverage in case of illness or absence by other staff.
