CITE: Youth Skateboarding Workshop with Skate Loft and Babes Brigade (Drop-in)

The Bentway and Build for Bokma are teaming up for CITE, a summer-long celebration of skateboard arts and culture. Starting July 7, CITE will also offer a variety of free workshops including learn to skateboard clinics for youth, building skate sculptures, videography, screen printing, and designing skateboards.
Want to learn how to skateboard? Join us at The Bentway as Skate Loft and Babes Brigrade host free youth skateboarding lessons. Designed for skateboarders of all skills and abilities, participants will learn skills appropriate to their ability, skatepark flow and etiquette, stretching and healthy lifestyle, equipment terminology and maintenance, and the various styles of skateboarding.

All participants must sign a waiver. Anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver.
Equipment and Safety
Safety equipment and board rentals will be provided to participants free of charge. Participants must wear protective helmets during the entire workshop and other protective equipment as recommended.
Starting Point / Meeting Place
Please meet us in front of the yellow bleachers (beside the Skate Trail and east of Fort York Visitor Centre, 250 Fort York Boulevard).

About Babes Brigade
Babes Brigade is a women’s skateboarding group and brand founded by Stephanie Battieste in July 2015. Initially created as a weekly meetup for women skateboarders, the group has evolved into a support group and safe for women on and off the board.
