Moon Merge: a live recording of Pondercast podcast episode #38

September 25, 2019

On September 14, as part of our presentation of Museum of the Moon by Luke Jerram, Laurie Brown and team recorded a special episode of their Pondercast podcast entitled Moon Merge. Moon Merge was created by Laurie and The Bentway so that Toronto could experience Luke Jerram’s Museum of the Moon – an exact replica of the moon, 7 metres in diameter, lit from within.

It was hung underneath the Gardiner Expressway in Toronto. “The idea of presenting Pondercast with this moon as the backdrop, sent ME to the moon,” says Laurie.

“So it was a perfect night to wax on about the moon. Which we did for about 8,000 people. Joining Joshua Van Tassel and myself on stage was Michael Eckert on pedal steel guitar. They stirred up a mesmerizing musical atmosphere for us all. Moon Merge will take you to the moon and back – as we contemplate how we experience nature living in a big city -and up on our planetary satellite.”
