WATERLICHT RADIO

October 30, 2018

WATERLICHT RADIO is a customized soundscape that accompanied The Bentway’s WATERLICHT installation on October 12, 13 and 14, 2018 – a monumental public art intervention designed by acclaimed Dutch artist Daan Roosegaarde.

The soundscape includes local stories about Toronto’s waterfront by prominent civic figures, historians, artists and others. WATERLICHT RADIO focused on pressing issues and personal memories related to Toronto’s waterfront. In addition to a contribution by Daan Roosegaarde, contributors include Nancy Rowe, Member, Great Lakes Guardians’ Council, Angus Armstrong, Harbour Master Emeritus, PortsToronto, and Madhu Nagaraja, Founding member, Great Lakes Open Water Adventures.

The stories live on as an enduring legacy of WATERLICHT’s appearance in Toronto and serve as a stirring call-to-action for a city-wide conversation around clean water initiatives and climate change.
